Rodrigues Bodycoat Architects [RBA] was established in 2008 with Simon Rodrigues and Simon Bodycoat establishing a design based architectural studio with emphasis on the delivery of an appropriate local and regional architecture.

The work of the studio encompasses architecture, interior design, landscape and urban design with a focus and specialisation in bespoke single residential and smaller scale commercial projects.

RBA maintains a significant portfolio of experience in residential, commercial, retail and sporting projects undertaken for a range of private, business and government clients.

Buildings, places and spaces designed by RBA are a direct response to the fundamentals of location, site, orientation, environment and climate.

The building aspirations and imaginings of a client requires the professionalism, education, experience and tutelage of the architect to facilitate this outcome.

RBA integrates the art of architecture with the specific site and brief requirements of a client in providing a unique response to each project.  Maintaining the design intent of each project through the technical documentation and contractual construction phases of a project is paramount in ensuring a consistency of architectural translation from concept design to the completed building.

Architecture necessitates the successful collaboration between all parties involved in the complex and lengthy process of the design and construction of a building.RBA recognises the importance of the architect as the traditional and consistent participant across all phases of a project and the significance that the relationship between each participant plays in the delivery of a successful building.

EXPERTISE

RBA has experience in all phases of project delivery from feasibility to contract administration and across a diversity of building types.  Strong interpersonal skills accompanied by extensive experience working within the industry provide a comprehensive knowledge of building science, technologies and innovations with an acquired understanding of construction and procurement methodologies, buildability considerations and cost planning control.

Simon Rodrigues has been a Practising Architect (Reg.#1389) since 1990 providing clients with a wealth of experience in the design and delivery of exceptional residential, commercial, institutional and retail projects.

Simon Bodycoat has been a Practising Architect (Reg.#1465) since 1992 providing clients with extensive previous practice experience in the design development, documentation and delivery of large scale public, institutional and sporting projects.

The studio provides extensive building knowledge and experience with a focus on the importance of client satisfaction and project delivery demands typically associated with smaller but highly complex bespoke residential projects.

Rodrigues Bodycoat Architects is a highly visible and accessible small practice studio with the experience, ability, resources and focus to deliver a wide range of architectural building typologies.

The studio currently supports a base team of five qualified architectural professionals and three graduates / students.
